In India JOST has established plants in Jamshedpur and Chennai. The company manufactures auto components of proprietary nature for commercial vehicles and agriculture tractors. The companys major customers include Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Daimler, Mahindra, Volvo Eicher etc. apart from Major Trailer builders like Satrac, Black Diamond Motors, Jupiter Wagons etc. The company also engages in exports to intercompany locations as well as third party customers across the world employing around 4,052 people in more than 37 production and sales locations across continents. Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Design and develop jigs, tools and trolleys to support Paint shop and assembly operations.
• Analyze existing manufacturing processes and recommend/implement continuous improvements in productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
• Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
• Optimize paint shop processes such as loading, unloading, Masking & painting to improve throughput and reduce rework.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
• Conduct time and motion studies, capacity planning, and process validation.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) by establishing robust powder coating processes.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide engineering solutions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality systems.
• Knowledge in APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, PFC Continuously monitor and update OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), PPH (Parts Per Hour), FTQ (First Time Quality), tool and consumable usage, CPC (Cost Per Component)

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical / Production / Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
• 68 years of hands-on experience in fabrication and manufacturing engineering.
• Strong expertise in fixture/jig/Trolley design and development.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Proven track record in process optimization and cost-saving initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Co-ordination is required with internal departments like production, logistics, accounts etc. The position often involves complex issues or problems that require careful analysis and diagnosis especially involving OE customers. The incumbent sets priorities and establishes a work plan to complete broadly defined assignments and achieve desired results.

The position requires thorough knowledge of company products, and product applications on which intense training would be provided. The position is required to travel frequently to keep in touch with the customer base and generate regular business.
