Job Description: Procurement AI Architect

Location: Bangalore, India

Role Overview:

As part of the Procurement XOPS SC & RND team, the Procurement AI Architect will lead the design and development of AI-driven solutions tailored to procurement use cases. This role involves leveraging Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI, Azure Cognitive Services, Python, and Databricks to build scalable, intelligent applications that enhance procurement processes and decision-making. AI Architect will be responsible for the development of reusable code blocks for standard patterns using python, langchain, azure OpenAI or Google vertex AI.

The Architect will collaborate closely with procurement product teams, vendor partners, and business stakeholders to deliver reusable AI components, frameworks, and guidance that accelerate innovation and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop cutting-edge AI applications using approved large language models (LLMs) for procurement-specific scenarios.

  • Apply prompt engineering techniques to build intelligent procurement tools (e.g., contract and rate analysis, supplier insights, spend analysis, forecasting).

  • Develop reusable code blocks and solution templates for:
      - Azure OpenAI integration with procurement data in Azure SQL/ Azure Databricks. DB genie knowledge is preferred.
      - Unstructured procurement document processing using Azure Storage, GCS and Document Intelligence.
      - Cognitive search indexing for procurement knowledge bases

  • Create technical guidelines for procurement teams on using Python, LangChain, and Azure AI services effectively.

  • Provide architectural leadership and technical guidance on LLMs such as Azure OpenAI, Google VertexAI, or Llama2.

  • Stay current with AI/ML advancements and recommend best practices for procurement applications.

  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and assess their relevance to procurement transformation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML solutions into existing procurement platforms and workflows.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in building Data/AI/ML solutions (preferably on Azure and GCP).

  • Proven experience with large language models (Azure OpenAI, Google VertexAI, etc.) and python language.

  • Strong understanding of procurement data and processes is a plus.

  • Experience with Azure Cognitive Services, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, GCP Storage, GCP Big Query.

  • Proficiency in prompt engineering and AI-related Python libraries.

  • Hands-on experience with LangChain and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.

  • Working knowledge of model fine-tuning and deployment.

  • Familiarity with Azure cloud concepts: Resource Groups, RBAC, Managed Identities, SPNs.

  • Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently with procurement teams to understand requirements and deliver AI solutions.
