IT QA Analyst

IT QA Analyst, GCC-Assurant
Your role will include analyzing user stories, developing and executing test cases, and documenting defects across application systems, services, and related software components, all in support of delivering high-quality solutions that meet enterprise standards. You will impart knowledge to other team members, help them develop right QA mind set to ensure quality.

This position will be in Hyderabad at our India location.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

• Active participation in elaborations
• Design and develop test approach/strategy for user stories and bugs
• Design and develop test scenarios and test cases
• Write SQL queries for test data set up
• Write SQL queries to validate test results
• Collaborate with POs and BAs to understand feature and story conditions of acceptance and gain sign-off of written test cases
• Perform test execution and lead the defect management process
• Re-test resolved defects by re-testing the original test case and related functionality
• Conduct demos
• Participate and conduct non-functional testing (security, performance, load, stress, multitenancy, DR etc)
• Clearly document system defects with repeatable steps to reproduce
• Work with automation team members identify automation scope
• Contribute to automated script development and increased automation
• Identify, coordinate, and perform end-to-end test execution with upstream and downstream domains
• Coordinate with offshore QA team members to hand-off work as needed, may require off-hours calls
• Demo completed features and stories to POs and business
• Assist in Regression, integration, smoke, platform testing.
• Write automated test cases.
• Execute Automated test cases.
• Assist QA Lead in testing experience throughout the software lifecycle including managing test cases, defects, metrics, and status reporting
• Track defect status and priority to ensure re-testing occurs in a timely manner
• Assist QA lead and team in Design and develop test approach/strategy for non-functional testing.
• Understand how test automation can be leveraged to improve overall quality and speed of regression testing and to reduce risk
• Work with release management tools to understand when expected code will be delivered to a test environment
• Work closely with other QA teams to ensure proper integration testing is exercised
• Report on progress in daily scrum stand-ups, raising issues, risks and blocks quickly
• Actively participate in sprint retrospectives to improve team, agile and QA processes
• Collaborate with agile team in planning, estimating and committing to sprint QA activities
• Plan and review strategies to test features and stories with team
• Create, estimate and update QA tasks during the sprint

What are the requirements needed for this position?

• 5+ years of testing enterprise level software
• 2+ years of experience developing test plans and test strategies for enterprise level software
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Ability to work in a large, matrix environment
• Strong attention to detail and focus on root-cause analysis
• Strong analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated through past experience and results
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Skilled at leading meetings and making presentations
• A great attitude

What are the Preferred Skills required for this position?

• Experience writing SQL queries
• Experience with Syntax of SQL
• Experience testing Data Migration, Data Quality, and ETL
• Familiarity with ADO and Microsoft Test Manager
• Familiarity with the insurance industry
• Being familiar with Automic job scheduler is a plus.
• Being familiar with HP Nonstop mainframe is a plus.
