Data Engineer
We are seeking a technically proficient and detail-oriented Data Integration Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Teradata, solid understanding of ETL processes, and deep knowledge of data warehousing concepts. The ideal candidate will be capable of building scalable data solutions, writing complex SQL queries, and supporting enterprise-level data integration initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures in Teradata for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
- Utilize Teradata utilities such as BTEQ, MLOAD, and FLOAD for efficient data loading, transformation, and batch processing.
- Design and implement robust ETL solutions, ensuring data quality, consistency, and performance across systems.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into scalable data integration workflows.
- Apply strong data warehousing principles to support analytical and operational reporting needs.
- Ensure data integrity through validation, reconciliation, and monitoring processes.
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Teradata: Strong hands-on experience with Teradata, including BTEQ, MLOAD, FLOAD, and stored procedures.
- SQL: Proficient in writing and debugging complex SQL queries for large-scale data environments.
ETL Development:
Solid understanding of ETL concepts and data pipeline architecture.
- Exposure to ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Informatica, DataStage, Talend, or custom ETL solutions).
Experience in performance tuning, error handling, and job orchestration.
Data Warehousing: Strong grasp of dimensional modeling, data architecture, and best practices in data warehousing.
- BI Tools: Exposure to reporting tools such as Power BI, Looker, Tableau, or similar (basic understanding only).
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to elicit and clarify requirements from business users.
- Agile Methodology: Experience working in Agile teams and delivering solutions in iterative cycles.
Preferred / Good to Have:
- Python: Basic knowledge of Python for scripting and automation.
- GCP: Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and its data services (e.g., BigQuery, Dataflow).
- Retail Domain: Understanding of retail business processes and data models is a plus.
