Role & responsibilities

1. Technical Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs using Python and frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
  • Implement and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
  • Develop integrations with databases, third-party APIs, and cloud services.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reusable code with strong focus on performance and scalability.
  • Conduct unit testing, debugging, and optimization of applications.

2. Team Leadership & Mentoring

  • Provide technical guidance and code reviews to junior developers.
  • Collaborate in sprint planning, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
  • Maintain development standards, best practices, and ensure code quality across the team.

3. Solution Design & Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Managers, UI/UX, and QA teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate in system design discussions and suggest improvements in architecture, security, and performance.
  • Ensure timely and quality delivery of project modules and releases.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation for APIs, workflows, and architecture.
  • Report progress, challenges, and risk factors to project leads or management.

Preferred candidate profile

Core Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Python, Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
  • Deep understanding of RESTful API design and microservices.
  • Database management: PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with ORMs (Django ORM / SQLAlchemy).
  • Proficiency in Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment (AWS / Azure / GCP).
  • Experience with Celery, Redis, or RabbitMQ for background processing.
  • Exposure to asynchronous programming (AsyncIO / FastAPI) preferred.

Desirable / Good to Have

  • Knowledge of JavaScript, React, or Angular for front-end integration.
  • Exposure to data analytics, AI/ML, or IIoT / Industry 4.0 systems.
  • Experience in Agile / Scrum environments.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a small technical team.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality software.
