The mission of the Data Protection (DP) group is to implement the Firm's Data Cybersecurity Strategy by architecting, engineering, deploying, and operating technical data security controls and capabilities for the Enterprise. This is achieved by continued focus on architectural rigor, automation, Agile delivery, and adoption of Data Protection Services control implementations by our users and partners.

The Data Protection Services (DPS) fleet design, engineer and operate solutions that secure data at rest and in transit, escalating inappropriate usage of the Firm's data to incident responders.

This DevOps position is with the DPS Sensitive Data Detection (SDD) Squad. We work on integrating our strategic firm wide application development suite. This includes core engineering work to integrate various applications across the software development lifecycle, support projects deployed to the cloud and on-prem data centers as well as a proactive data governance capability while working closely with wider Technology groups, stakeholders & our 3rd party vendors.

The SDD squad sits within the Data Protection Services group consisting of Developers, DevOps, and Infrastructure Engineers whose role it is to provide expert development, integration, and strategy capabilities to enable detection of sensitive data stored by Morgan Stanley. Detection results feed downstream systems for data security, compliance, privacy as well as threat monitoring and analytics. We have a strong focus on applying data controls in both on-prem and cloud environments. The team operates in a flat, agile structure and fosters a culture of collaboration and autonomy. Team members are located across Bengaluru, Glasgow, and Hong Kong.

What will you be doing
You will work with the SDD squad supporting engineering and operational tasks involved in data security services, ranging from service delivery, task automation, DevOps tasks and supporting an on-call rota.
You will maintain DevOps tools, and onboard new tooling where required, to support business needs and integrate with existing technology.
Working with the SDD squad and wider stakeholders, you will support the continuous improvement of our services through the development of automation scripting and effective observability solutions.
Across the SDD squad and stakeholder groups, you will participate in design and code reviews.
You will participate in the agile ceremonies and norms of the team.
You will deliver knowledge sharing across our global Data Protection squads & chapters, providing documentation, presentations, and internal postings.
