A Data Analyst's Job Description (JD) involves collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting data to find patterns and insights, transforming raw numbers into actionable information for better business decisions, creating dashboards/reports (Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI), and communicating findings to stakeholders, ultimately improving efficiency, strategy, and growth.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection & Management: Acquire data from primary/secondary sources, maintain databases, and ensure data quality by cleaning and filtering.
  • Analysis & Interpretation: Use statistical techniques to analyze data, identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and answer key business questions.
  • Reporting & Visualization: Develop and maintain dashboards, charts, and reports to present insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaboration: Work with managers and cross-functional teams (marketing, sales, operations) to understand needs and deliver relevant insights.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend new data strategies, optimize data collection systems, and find new ways to use data.

  • Technical Skills: SQL, Excel, Statistical Analysis, Data Visualization (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, and strong communication.

Typical Duties:

  • Querying databases.
  • Building interactive visualizations.
  • Developing data acquisition logic.
  • Creating reports and presentations.
  • Supporting strategic planning and forecasting.
