Asst. Manager-Production and Quality

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Production and Quality Manager for our Contract Manufacturing Unit (CMU). The ideal candidate will have experience in the Potato Chips Line, Extrusion Process Line, or Ethnic Namkeen Manufacturing Process, with a deep understanding of both production and quality management systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of production, product quality, and operational efficiency, while driving innovation and aligning cross-functional teams with strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production & Quality Management:

• Oversee and manage the Potato Chips Line, Extrusion Process Line, and Ethnic Namkeen Manufacturing process, ensuring adherence to quality and production standards.

• Implement and maintain manufacturing best practices on the shop floor to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality products.

• Co-Packer & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Maintain strong relationships with co-packers and ensure alignment with cross-functional teams, including procurement, logistics, and sales, to meet production goals and timelines.

• Lead collaboration efforts to drive operational excellence and quality across departments.

• Innovation & Strategy Development:

• Drive innovation initiatives within the production and quality process to enhance efficiency and product offerings.

• Develop and implement strategic plans to improve production processes and overall performance.

• Manufacturing Practices & Compliance:

• Promote and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) on the production floor to ensure adherence to industry standards.

• Ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements, maintaining product safety, quality, and sustainability standards.

• Documentation & Process Standardization:

• Document and standardize processes and procedures to ensure alignment with company and regulatory requirements.

• Provide accurate and timely reporting of production and quality data to stakeholders.

• Resource Optimization:

• Maximize resource utilization (including manpower, equipment, and materials) to meet production targets and budget requirements.

• Continuously assess and optimize production processes to reduce costs while maintaining output and quality.

• Production Planning & Equipment Availability:

• Prioritize and plan production activities with CMU managers to ensure equipment and lines are available and ready to meet production demand.

• Troubleshoot and resolve any production-related issues in a timely manner.

• Quality Assurance & Safety:

• Ensure the effective implementation of quality policies and procedures, including HACCP, metal detection, recall procedures, hold procedures, and lot traceability.

• Monitor and verify product quality to ensure compliance with product specifications and customer expectations.

• Communication & Team Coordination:

• Communicate effectively with production teams at the Contract Manufacturing Unit to define production objectives, track deviations, and ensure alignment with overall production goals.

• Act as a leader, taking ownership of production operations and leading the team to resolve any market complaints or quality issues.

• Ethical Representation & Compliance:

• Ethically represent the company and uphold the corporate Code of Conduct in all activities and decisions.

• Ensure that all production and quality processes are in full compliance with relevant laws, standards, and regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Food Technology, or a related field. Masters degree is a plus.

• Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the Potato Chips Line, Extrusion Process Line, or Ethnic Namkeen Manufacturing Process.

• Strong background in both production and quality management, including HACCP, GMP, and regulatory compliance.

• Skills:

• Proven leadership and team management abilities.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong knowledge of process documentation and standard operating procedures.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Technical Skills:

• Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and food safety standards.

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant production management tools.

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience working with contract manufacturing units (CMUs) or third-party manufacturers.
• Knowledge of the ethnic food industry and snack manufacturing processes.
• Ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in a production environment.
