Media: Associate Director / Director
As the Associate Director / Director of Media, you will be a key member of the Media Planning & Buying team in the region. Your primary responsibility is to provide expert guidance and subject matter expertise to the team. You will ensure a sound media strategy, optimal budget utilization based on campaign objectives and available inventory, and drive ongoing cross-channel optimizations. Additionally, you will play an integral role in the new business team, leading pitch presentations. This role requires a strong working knowledge of the Indian media landscape and available media research. You will manage a budget of 60-80Cr and lead a team of 2-3 individuals.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a subject matter expert in specific areas of media strategy and planning, leading related initiatives and integrating them throughout the agency.
Oversee all deliverables produced by your team, either directly or through delegation.
Own the development of quality standards for planning deliverables, such as media recommendation templates and post-campaign analyses.
Collaborate with other team leads, particularly Analytics and Strategy, to develop best practices.
Lead 1-2 non-client specific projects per quarter to enhance capabilities, improve work quality, or increase efficiency/optimization.
Manage the team member responsible for the quality of media planning milestone meetings, strategic presentations, tactical presentations, and post-campaign analyses.
Serve as the point of escalation for team issues and provide guidance for process and workflow enhancements, capability growth, improved work quality, efficiency, and satisfaction.
Participate in new business pitches, working with the leadership team to develop plans and presentations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders.
Take a proactive approach to capacity and resource management.
Team Leadership & Development
Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity.
Motivate, lead, and manage internal teams to drive programs that meet clients' performance and business objectives.
Promote the adoption of account management best practices through leading by example, positive reinforcement, and corrective actions.
Assist in interviewing, hiring, training, mentoring, developing, and evaluating team members.
Provide training to direct reports and other team members.
Identify opportunities for process and product optimization and suggest improvements.
Skills
Ability to forecast expected outcomes of brand and ROI campaigns and manage spend accordingly.
Proven expertise with relevant platform tools such as DoubleClick Bid Manager, Google Adwords tools, Facebook tools, and media research tools like Comscore, GWI, TGI, etc.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
Exceptional client relationship and management skills.
Proven problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
Detail-oriented, responsive, and deadline-driven with strong quantitative reasoning skills.
Provide timely and actionable feedback to the team to support their development and improvement.
