Science Outreach and Education Specialist

Location:
Bengaluru, Karnataka, India (with required travel)

We are seeking a passionate and innovative
Science Outreach and Education Specialist
to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and delivering exciting and engaging science programs for diverse audiences, with a special focus on
astronomy
.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Design:
    Develop and create innovative, hands-on science and astronomy outreach programs and workshops.
  • Program Execution:
    Lead and conduct science education programs with enthusiasm and clarity, making complex topics accessible and exciting for all ages.
  • Travel and Outreach:
    Travel to various locations, including schools, colleges, and communities, to execute science outreach initiatives.
  • Curriculum Development:
    Learn and teach a wide range of astronomy topics, from the solar system to deep-space phenomena.
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
    Create and document Standard Operating Procedures for our existing science outreach programs to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Communication:
    Represent our organization at events and foster strong relationships with partners and the public.
  • Language Skills:
    Effectively communicate and teach in
    English, Hindi, and Kannada
    .

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience:
    Proven experience in science communication, education, or a related field.
  • Passion:
    A genuine passion for science and a desire to inspire others.
  • Communication:
    Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. The ability to simplify scientific concepts for a general audience is a must.
  • Adaptability:
    Willingness to travel and work in various environments.
  • Technical Skills:
    Familiarity with creating and presenting educational content. Experience with creating SOPs is a plus.
