Through your passion for leadership you connect, engage and develop your chapter members so they deliver value aligned to Telstra's strategic roadmap.

Through your initiative work, you act as a catalyst for the enterprise. You bring experience in the Software Engineering technical domain and work with multiple stakeholders to understand business needs, and help shape our Software Engineering strategy, solutions and capability to ensure we continuously deliver value to our customers.

Chapter Leadership: As a Chapter Lead, you combine your passion for building individual and team capability with your technical expertise to do the following:

• Modelling a culture of collaboration and continuous learning to support development of domain and interpersonal capability within the Chapter.

• Coaching and developing chapter members within Software Engineering to enable them to deliver high quality and secure software solutions, providing support and feedback along the way.

• Building strong, trusting relationships within teams that enable a high performing team culture aligned to living our values

• Providing clarity on performance, behavioural goals and expectations to your chapter team to ensure that they can contribute to both mission and chapter activity

• Actively maintaining a talent pipeline for the chapter to ensure that workforce strategy objectives are achieved.

• Managing resource allocation, including recruitment and/or selection, to ensure capability required is available and resourcing issues are mitigated, in collaboration with Group Owners.

• Applying commercial acumen to ensure chapter and resourcing priorities are achieved within allocated budget targets.

• Collaborating with Chapter Area Lead and other Chapter Leads to determine and implement tools/common practices to be used by Chapter Members

• Providing clarity to chapter members on current and future capability requirements to enable them to own and drive their development so they can continually grow and add value in different ways.

• Using timely feedback conversations to inspire chapter member performance and the achievement of challenging goals

• Acting as a champion and exemplifying the ways of working mindsets and practices for all teams in which you participate

• Identifying opportunities to innovate and create new software engineering practices/approaches to improve efficiency and effectiveness

Initiative Allocation: When working as a member of an initiative team, you bring strong expertise and a breadth of experience in Software Engineering to:

• Lead the design, build and maintenance of multiple complex software application technologies and their interaction with Telstra processes and systems

• Ensure functional business requirements and epics are translated into customer solutions that align to agreed strategy, architecture, and technology roadmaps

• Foster quality and consistency in the epics/programs of work delivered by the teams within your Chapter

• Continuously develop your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role and help to empower others in your Chapter with that knowledge

• Significantly contribute to continuous improvement initiatives of our systems and processes, to help define 'best practice' corporate testing standards and drive improved outcomes (e.g. productivity, customer experience and/or profitability)

• Provide guidance and direction when sought out by others to resolve problems, either in terms of defining the approach to take, or the consideration of factors to be solved for

• Lead initiatives or components of initiatives in line with the strategic direction of your team/mission, that have a significant degree of impact to the function or cross-functionally

About You

12+ Yrs of overall exp

Hands-on expertise in one or more languages Java, JavaScript & HTML/CSS

Expert knowledge in UI Technologies like React.JS development

Expert knowledge in Microservices architecture and REST APIs

Hands-on development experience in AWS/PCF

Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes concepts and components

Experience developing in an Agile environment using CI/CD pipelines and Git
