DescriptionAs the Deputy Manager in our Dispatch department, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the timely and safe delivery of our ice cream products. Your responsibilities will include planning and executing daily dispatch schedules, managing the allocation of SKUs, and coordinating with various teams to ensure smooth operations. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the cold chain, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with food safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute daily dispatch schedules based on production and sales orders.
- Ensure proper SKU allocation and adherence to FIFO/FEFO principles.
- Oversee the loading of ice cream products into reefer vehicles at the required temperature.
- Coordinate with sales, CFAs, and distributors to confirm dispatch slots and vehicle requirements.
- Monitor vehicle departures, transit status, and timely deliveries.
- Maintain strict frozen temperatures during loading, storage, and transportation.
- Ensure reefer trucks are pre-cooled before loading ice cream products.
- Monitor temperature logs and reefer unit performance.
- Conduct periodic audits of reefer vehicles and insulated docks.
- Take immediate action on temperature deviations or equipment failures.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in dispatch operations, preferably in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of cold chain management and temperature-controlled logistics.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in using dispatch management software and MS Office.
- Good understanding of food safety regulations (FSSAI, HACCP, GMP).
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.
- A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
