What does a great Infrastructure Engineering Leader do in Fiserv?

As Vice President, Infrastructure Engineering, Fiserv Technology Services, the role works closely with CTO/portfolio leaders and CIO teams in various technologies like cloud, observability platforms, container technologies, event streaming, messaging, middleware and network/firewall operations and engineering. It is a key role in managing a significant portion of global organization based in Global Services, driving efficiency via automation, optimization and modernize service delivery.

Experience and knowledge of Fiservs broad technological capabilities are combined with a passion that inspires the Organization in continuous improvement in all facets of the technology stacks and supporting processes. As the conduit and representative of business aligned technology services consistent Client centricity is critical.

The role acts as the catalyst for service excellence while promoting accountability for stable, secure, and resilient platforms and products to enable Fiserv Clients and customers. The ideal candidate for this role will possess deep technical infrastructure skills with previous experience of playing a global leadership role managing operations and engineering functions.

The candidate also need to be able to demonstrate a commercial orientation, operational excellence and flair for emerging technologies and frameworks.

The role is required to be performed from Pune providing overlap with US working hours for all working days with flexibility to oversee critical activities off business hours and weekends.

What you will do:

  • Ownership of end-to-end product / portfolio operating model with-in FTS
  • Engage with key business stakeholders on a regular basis to understand their needs, involve them in joint planning and drive overall high stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Leads as the single point of accountability and escalation to CIOs and to the FTS organization for technology services.
  • Ensure best practices adoption to assure platform stability, risk reduction and ongoing lifecycle hygiene
  • Provide oversight in remediating known risks and build culture of risk identification and reduction
  • Ensure compliance with Global Cyber security standards and procedures.
  • Ensure execution of enterprise-wide programs and initiatives aligned to strategy.
  • Ensure adoption of strategic technology tools and contribution towards enhancing them.
  • Combines technical and commercial acumen to enable stakeholders towards optimal technology utilization and upkeep.
  • Drives efficient technology outcomes by leveraging initiative management, new product adoption, automation and lifecycle management opportunities to the fullest.
  • Remain intellectually curious and push adoption of Gen AI practices in bringing better platform stability and reducing outages, especially those caused by changes.
  • Partners directly with the CIO teams to define, execute critical business objectives as the face of Fiserv Technology Services.
  • Consistently advocates with ownership of, and accountability for the technology change roadmap.
  • Continuously challenge status quo and re-imagine new ways of doing things for the better.
  • Drive engineering and innovation as a culture and develop high performing teams.

What you will need to have:

  • Building, improving and sustaining ongoing operational support of infrastructure on-prem or cloud hosting Fiserv applications and products.
  • Co-ownership in driving transformational improvements to the product deployments (e.g. DevOps, Agile, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment)
  • Level 2 and 3 support ownership of all assigned infrastructure.
  • Prioritization, coordination, and flawless implementation of all business and technology projects.
  • Manager high performing and highly available infrastructure components.
  • Ensures the Infrastructure organization understands the customers perspective of service and can prioritize its services and service assets appropriately.
  • Works collaboratively with global technology functions to deliver technology standards across the Fiserv regions and maintains adherence to corporate policies.
  • Develops strategic plans identifying opportunities to improve Service Quality while minimizing costs.
  • Implements CTO initiatives including data center operations and consolidations, development of global operating model strategy, and service quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide input on budget requirements for areas of responsibility.
  • Aligns implementations across the global team, ensuring budgets are maintained and resources are allocated effectively.
  • Develops and evaluates technology plans, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with company goals and standards. Continuously analyzes programs to ensure maximum utilization and efficiency, as well as meeting budget guidelines.
  • Accountable for personally driving defined transformation programs to reduce cost, improve efficiency, increase availability, and improve overall quality of service delivery.
  • Manage third party processors, hardware & software vendors, and external infrastructure providers to provide a single view into Digital products technology.
  • Accountable for the adherence to all compliance processes and ITIL controls.
  • Manage and report the financials tied to the infrastructure and human capital to support the business.
  • Lead effort to hire and build a diverse workforce aligned to corporate and country goals, continuously investing on talent development and upskilling.
  • Drive a culture of risk excellence and ensure service delivery is compliant with standards.
  • Ensuring self and team anticipates, monitors, actively manages and reports all risk and compliance issues, breaches and suspicious activities.
