Position Summary:

The Deputy Registrar (Academics) plays a key role in supervising and coordinating all academic activities related to the teaching and learning process of college students. This includes monitoring classroom teaching, ensuring smooth academic operations, implementing academic policies, and supporting faculty and students. The role ensures that the quality of education meets the university's academic standards and regulatory requirements.

Role & responsibilities

  • Teaching & Academic Supervision:

  • Oversee and monitor the implementation of the academic calendar.

  • Supervise classroom teaching activities to ensure quality and timely course delivery.
  • Coordinate with heads of departments and faculty to maintain academic standards.
  • Track attendance, syllabus coverage, and student performance.

  • Curriculum & Timetable Management:

  • Ensure proper execution of approved curriculum and academic programs.

  • Supervise timetable preparation and class scheduling.
  • Facilitate the introduction of new courses or academic programs as per university policy.

  • Student Academic Support:

  • Monitor student progress and address academic-related issues.

  • Ensure proper maintenance of student academic records.
  • Coordinate academic counseling and mentoring support.

  • Examination & Evaluation:

  • Supervise the conduct of internal and external examinations.

  • Ensure fair and transparent evaluation and timely declaration of results.
  • Maintain examination-related records and reports.

  • Regulatory & Policy Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with academic policies and regulations of the university and regulatory bodies (e.g., University Grants Commission, National Assessment and Accreditation Council).

  • Assist in preparation of reports, academic audits, and accreditation processes.

  • Coordination & Communication:

  • Act as a link between academic departments, students, and administration.

  • Issue academic circulars, notifications, and updates.
  • Support organization of academic events such as orientations, workshops, and convocations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Masters Degree ( Management / Engineering / Health Sciences) from a recognized university.( M Tech/ MBA/M Sc N /MDS/ BDS/MPT/MMLT)
  • Minimum 8 years of administrative or academic experience, preferably in a university or higher education setting.
  • Strong understanding of academic systems, teaching-learning processes, and educational regulations.

  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Leadership and team management qualities.
  • Proficiency in academic management software and office applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
