Role Summary

The ideal candidate will report into the Desktop Packaging Lead, and ensure the successful development of software applications across various platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of desktop internals for both Windows and Mac environments, as well as expertise in modern packaging technologies and deployment solutions.

Essential Functions of the Role

- Design and develop software packages using tools such as PowerShell Application Deployment Toolkit (PSADT), MSIX, SCCM, Intune, and Munki.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure that application packaging meets business needs and compliance standards.

  • Develop and maintain packaging standards, templates, best practices, and documentation to ensure consistency and quality in software deployment.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve packaging and deployment issues, providing technical guidance and support to team members.

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in application packaging and deployment technologies; and recommend improvements to existing processes.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

- Proficiency in PowerShell Studio for scripting and automation of packaging processes.

  • Extensive experience with MSIX packaging format and its deployment.

  • Strong knowledge of SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), Intune, and Munki for application deployment and management across Windows and Mac platforms.

  • Deep understanding of desktop internals for both Windows and Mac operating systems, and Windows 365 virtual platform.

  • Familiarity with software deployment methodologies and best practices.

  • Experience with application virtualization technologies is a plus.

Education

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Relevant certifications in application packaging or deployment technologies (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are preferred.

Experience

- Minimum 5 years of experience in application packaging and SCCM/Intune deployment, with at least 2 years in a Technical Lead or supervisory role.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex packaging projects and delivering high-quality results on time.
