OT Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients to help them achieve their maximum potential in daily living and working activities. This role involves working with a diverse patient population, including individuals with disabilities, geriatrics, and children, in various settings such as outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans to enhance their ability to perform daily activities (ADLs).
• Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving patients' functional abilities and quality of life.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care, including discharge planning and case management.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment goals, care plans, and adaptive strategies.
• Document patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments.
• Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and best practices in occupational therapy.
• Participate in early intervention programs for children with developmental delays or disabilities.
• Work effectively with individuals across various age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics.

Skills

• Proficiency in assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and developing care plans tailored to individual needs.
• Experience in discharge planning and case management within acute care settings or skilled nursing facilities.
• Knowledge of working with people with autism and other developmental disorders.
• Familiarity with ICU experience, inpatient care, post-acute care experience, outpatient services, home health, and clinic environments.
• Strong understanding of occupational health principles and practices related to rehabilitation.
• Ability to provide speech therapy techniques as part of a holistic approach to patient care when necessary.
