SDET - Automation Framework Engineer (Federated Squad) - Lead AND Engineer

Overview:

As an SDET - Automation Framework Engineer, will be closely working in NABs Federated Squad & responsible for enhancing & maintaining automation frameworks in NAB space. This role requires very strong programming knowledge, hands-on experience in modern UI automation leveraging Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, and API automation with mocking and stubbing expertise along with cloud expertise (preferred AWS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance, maintain & develop automation frameworks for Web, API, and Mobile applications.
  • Able to contribute for future enabled NAB automation framework- AutoX along with Playwright, or Cypress (TypeScript/JavaScript).
  • Implement API automation using RestAssured, Pact, or Postman.
  • Develop test strategies for microservices-based applications.
  • Set up and manage CI/CD pipeline integration for test execution.
  • Implement API mocking strategies using WireMock/Pact.
  • Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-based test execution environments.
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers for seamless automation integration.
  • Work with Shift-Left Testing principles to integrate testing early in the SDLC.
  • Provide guidance on best coding practices and improve test coverage.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 6-10 years of experience in test automation.
  • Proficiency in Java, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
  • Hands-on API automation experience with RestAssured**
  • Must have experience in contract testing and API mocking strategies in microservice architecture and via Service virtualization.
  • Experience in building automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Strong SQL knowledge (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Strong experience working with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-based execution**
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Exposure to Shift-Left Testing and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills to identify automation failures.
  • Familiarity with performance and security testing tools.
  • Strong experience working with message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
