AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS's services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS. Within AWS UC, Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) roles engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

AWS NGDE team is looking for talented System Development Engineers to develop optimized solutions to create high quality information for the ML services to improve the developer experience. Our team's mission is to make machine learning easy, stronger, and universal in the world of Natural Language and Speech. We developed thriving ML services such as Comprehend, Kendra, Lex and Transcribe. We continuously work on adding new services to our portfolio, which address real world problems through research and innovation. We build state-of-the-art services using the latest deep learning techniques and highly scalable distributed systems engineering.

System development Engineers in our team will be responsible to dive deep into the new data requirements for the ML models and deliver optimized solutions in a massive scale. He/She will refactor and optimize our existing solutions to enhance the ML models. He/She will work with external teams and set-up high coding standards to ensure the quality of the delivery. He/She will innovate to continuously improve the coverage and quality of the information. He/She will play a major role in the next phase of AWS innovation in ML and AI.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop & Deliver high quality and optimized solutions to create high quality information for the ML services and enhance the ML models.
• Partner effectively with the Product or science teams to understand the needs and deliver with high quality.
• Innovate new ideas and implement to continuously improve the coverage and quality of the information.
• Own the infrastructure and mitigate the risks on time.
• Mentor new engineers

Basic Qualifications

• B.E. in Computer Science or equivalent qualification.
• 2+ years of experience in system development and automation. (Using C++/Java/Python)
• Demonstrated skill and passion for problem solving and operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in writing test assertions
• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
