Job Description – Computer Lab Technician

Position: Computer Lab Technician

Location: IIMT College of Engineering, Greater Noida

Department: IT Cell

Reports To: Head IT

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, projectors, and related peripherals in the computer lab.
  • Provide technical support to students, faculty, and staff for hardware/software issues.
  • Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of lab equipment.
  • Install and update operating systems, applications, and antivirus software.
  • Ensure network connectivity (LAN, Wi-Fi) and assist in troubleshooting internet-related issues.
  • Maintain proper inventory records of hardware, software licenses, and accessories.
  • Assist in lab setup for practical classes, workshops, and examinations.
  • Enforce lab rules and IT policies to maintain a secure and productive environment.
  • Coordinate with the IT team for upgrades, backups, and preventive maintenance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Diploma / bachelor's in computer science, IT, or related field.
  • Knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems and MS Office tools.
  • Familiarity with networking basics (LAN, IP configuration, Wi-Fi, printers, etc.).
  • Hands-on skills in PC assembly, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Hardware & Networking / CompTIA A+ / CCNA (basic level).
  • Prior experience in managing educational institution computer labs.
  • Knowledge of server systems, virtualization, and backup tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹12, ₹18,000.00 per month
