SENIOR MANAGER MANUFACTURING

Qualifications & Experience:

Qualification: B.E Mechanical Engineering with 20 years to 25 years .

ROLE CONTEXT:-

Exponential growth in output can be achieved without exponential increase in infrastructure is the operating mantra for the chief of manufacturing. The person in this position is expected to translate the vision of the company into manufacturing and procurement strategies and implement an management system that will maximise the potential of team members. He along with chief of manufacturing procurement is responsible for developing and maintaining enduring relationships with key suppliers. Above all, he is responsible for creating a robust system in place to ensure that the quality of BFL turbines is world class.

DETAILED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy Planning

• Create the functional strategy and plans based on corporate goals
• Develop and implement all necessary policies and procedures to ensure that the production, purchasing and dispatch functions achieve set production objectives
• Develop and control the plant operations budget and ensure availability of required resources to meet set objectives
• Develop a supply chain strategy to deliver turbines that are beyond the manufacturing capacity of BFL
• Contribute to the development of companys annual plan and provide leadership in the areas of production, purchase and dispatch to ensure that company achieves its short and long-term objectives
• Build and sustain enduring relationships with the key stakeholders of the supply chain
• Responsible for manpower planning based on the annual business plan.

Production Planning And Control

• Plan and monitor optimum utilization of the production capacity
• Monitor forecasting of raw material requirements
• Coordinate with various departments to develop the production plan and to ensure that production is carried out as per developed plans
• Instruct the production planning team in case of urgent orders and review progress of the same
• Monitor variance and take necessary corrective and / or preventive actions.

Cost Efficiency

• Develop plant budgets encompassing manufacturing and manpower costs as per industry standards or as finalized with the COO
• Monitor cost of operations such as power, labour, consumables and maintenance at plant regularly to ensure expenses are within assigned budgets
• Monitor usage of raw materials, tools and equipments
• Ensure all expenses are restricted to predetermined budgets

Logistics

• Monitor and ensure that logistics are as per plan
• Ensure timely delivery of goods to the customer

Quality

• Formulate strategies and systems for quality assurance and quality control to deliver efficient and quality products
• Review and monitor quality assurance and quality control at the plant to ensure they meet set standards
• Ensure development, deployment and sustenance of quality policies
• Ensure that turbines shipped out are on brand.

Monitoring And Reviewing

• Manage, monitor and review the end-to-end manufacturing process which includes planning, production, maintenance and dispatch of manufactured goods to achieve production targets at optimum cost
• Monitor and review the supply chain strategy regularly
• Monitor and drive the 5S implementation plan.
• Monitor and drive other quality initiatives.

Government Liaison

• Develop enduring relationships with government bodies and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure compliance to all statutory norms.

Coordination

Be a link between sales, commercial and operations for ease of inter-departmental functioning.

Safety

• Ensure safety and security of employees working in the plant.

Review and monitor safety and security measures at plant periodically.
