Overview The Manual Tester (Functional) position is critical in ensuring the quality and reliability of banking applications and services. In a rapidly evolving financial technology landscape, it is imperative that systems function seamlessly to maintain user trust and regulatory compliance. This role focuses on manual testing processes to identify defects and ensure that the applications meet the specified requirements. The Manual Tester will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and business analysts, to understand application functionalities and user needs. This position is vital for delivering high-quality software products and supporting the overall goals of the organization by enhancing customer satisfaction and minimizing business risks associated with software failures. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct functional testing based on project requirements and use cases.
  • Develop and execute test cases, scenarios, and scripts for manual testing.
  • Document test results and report defects using tracking tools.
  • Perform regression testing to ensure existing functionalities remain intact.
  • Collaborate with development and product teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
  • Participate in requirement analysis and design review meetings.
  • Identify, isolate, and document defects clearly and concisely.
  • Review and validate test data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Provide help in preparing and maintaining test documentation and test plans.
  • Assist in developing automation test strategies and plans (if applicable).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
  • Manage testing environments and ensure they are up to date.
  • Monitor and report on testing progress, risks, and issues.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint reviews as part of Agile methodologies.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory standards in banking applications.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manual testing in the banking or financial domain.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
  • Experience in functional and regression testing techniques.
  • Proficiency in defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
  • Knowledge of API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI) is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Quality Center).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines.
  • Certifications like ISTQB or CSTE would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
