Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with vendors/factories to develop samples as per buyer's design and tech pack.
  • Follow up on sample approvals — fit, proto, size set, PP (pre-production), etc.
  • Ensure that correct fabric, trims, and construction details are used in samples.
  • Maintain sample tracker and update buyers/merchandiser on sample status.
  • Assist in preparing cost sheets and negotiating initial prices with factories.
  • Help the merchandiser compare quotations and prepare price summaries for buyer approval.
  • Once order is confirmed, create and maintain order sheets, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and T&A (Time & Action) calendars.
  • Follow-up daily with vendors for sample, fabric, trims, and production follow-up.
  • Communicate buyer comments and ensure timely implementation by factories.
  • Follow up on production status to ensure adherence to delivery timelines.
  • Assist in managing inspection schedules and shipment documentations
  • Update order status reports, sample trackers, and T&A sheets weekly.
  • Handle internal system entries (for PO, styles, shipment tracking).
  • Support senior merchandiser in preparing presentations or reports for buyer meetings

Key Skills

  • Basic understanding of fabrics, trims, garment construction, costing, Excel & T&A management
  • Ability to track multiple styles, maintain data accuracy, and manage timelines
  • Detail-oriented, proactive follow-up, multitasking, time management
  • Role: Assistant Merchandiser (Buying Office)
  • EXPERIENCE: 2 TO 3 YRS
