About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technical Accounting Specialist to join our global finance team. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and compliant accounting treatment of complex revenue transactions across the organization. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of progressive accounting experience, a strong foundation in revenue recognition standards, and expertise in both US GAAP (ASC 606) and Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS 115).

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue Recognition & Contract Review:

  • Review complex, multi-element sales contracts, including those with software, services, and licensing components, to determine and document the appropriate revenue recognition treatment in compliance with US GAAP(ASC 606) and Ind AS 115.

  • Perform the five-step model analysis for all new and modified customer contracts, including identifying performance obligations, determining transaction price, and allocating the price.

  • Work closely with Sales, Legal, and Business Operations teams to structure new deals and product offerings to ensure optimal revenue recognition and financial reporting outcomes.

  • Technical Accounting & Policy:

  • Research, analyze, and document conclusions on complex technical accounting issues (e.g., business combinations, leases, impairment) under both US GAAP and Ind AS.

  • Draft and maintain technical accounting memos, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with current accounting standards.

  • Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and ensure a smooth reconciliation and reporting of key accounting metrics between the two standards (US GAAP and Ind AS).

  • Financial Close & Compliance:

  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes related to revenue and other technical areas, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations (e.g., deferred revenue, contract assets/liabilities).

  • Serve as a key contact for both internal and external auditors, providing supporting documentation and explanations for revenue and complex accounting positions.
  • Ensure effective internal controls (SOX/ICFR) are maintained and adhered to within the revenue recognition and technical accounting processes.
