Dental Duty Doctor

• Examine, diagnose, and provide basic dental treatments (fillings, extractions, scaling, preventive care).
• Handle emergency dental cases (toothache, abscess, trauma management, bleeding, swelling).
• Record patient history, treatment plans, and maintain accurate case sheets.
• Provide preliminary consultation and refer to specialists when needed.
• Support senior dentists during advanced procedures.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive dental practices, and post-treatment care.
• Ensure sterilization and infection control protocols are strictly followed.
• Coordinate with reception/clinic staff for smooth patient flow.
• Maintain professional conduct and ensure patient satisfaction.
• Prescribe medications as necessary
• Carefully document all medications, diagnoses, treatments and consultations
• Supervise the work of professional, technical and administrative staff
• Regular patient follow up and Lab tracking
• Support Home consultation

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform basic dental procedures: check-ups, fillings, extractions, scaling, fluoride application, preventive care.
• Provide emergency care: manage toothache, trauma, swelling, bleeding, or abscess.
• Take patient history, record findings, update case sheets, and prepare treatment plans.
• Assist Chief Dentist / Specialists during advanced procedures (root canals, prosthodontics, surgeries, implants).
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive measures, and post-treatment instructions.
• Prescribe medications as per clinical requirement and maintain prescription records.
• Ensure sterilization, hygiene, and infection control protocols are strictly followed.
• Manage patient appointments and coordinate with receptionist/clinic staff for smooth flow.
• Handle patients politely and maintain high standards of care and ethics.

Skills & Qualifications:

• BDS Degree (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) from a recognized institution.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in general dentistry.
• Good communication and patient-handling skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning and patient-centered care.
