About the role

As the Data Platform Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of data engineers and

overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the data infrastructure that supports

our organization's data-driven initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams,

including data scientists, data analysts, and software engineers, to ensure the data platform meets

the needs of various data-related projects and applications. Your role will involve providing

technical leadership and guidance to the team, while also collaborating with stakeholders to align

the data platform with the organization's strategic goals.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing technical

guidance, and promoting best practices in data platform design, development, and delivery.

2. Data Platform Architecture: Work with the team to design and develop the data platform

architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. Make informed decisions on

technology selection and integration to align with the organization's data strategy.

3. Engineering Delivery Knowledge: Implement software engineering best practices, including

code reviews, version control, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) to

ensure high-quality, reliable data platform solutions.

4. DevOps Process: Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement and maintain robust

deployment and monitoring processes, ensuring the data platform's smooth operation and

quick resolution of any issues.

1. Agile Methodology: Champion the use of Agile methodologies in the data engineering team's
   
   workflow, ensuring efficient project management, and timely delivery of data solutions.
2. IoT & Cloud Technology Knowledge: Stay updated with the latest trends in IoT (Internet of
   
   Things) and cloud technologies. Apply this knowledge to leverage IoT data and harness the
   
   power of cloud-based data services for the data platform.
3. Data Security and Compliance: Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations
   
   and privacy policies, implementing appropriate access controls, encryption, and data
   
   governance measures.
4. Data Integration: Oversee the development and maintenance of data pipelines and ETL
   
   processes to integrate data from diverse sources, transforming it into usable formats for
   
   analysis and reporting.
5. Cloud Infrastructure: Leverage cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to optimize
   
   data infrastructure, ensuring scalability, cost-efficiency, and high availability.
6. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and analysts,
   
   to understand their data requirements and provide solutions that enable data-driven decision-
   
   making.
7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the data
   
   platform architecture, processes, and data flows. Provide regular updates and reports to
   
   stakeholders on the status of data platform projects.
   
   Job Requirements:
8. Proven experience in data engineering and data platform design.
9. Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire the
   
   team.
10. Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala.
11. Experience with cloud-based data services and infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
12. Knowledge of IoT technologies and their application in data platforms.
13. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
14. Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
15. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
16. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple projects
    
    simultaneously.
    
    Experience:
    
    5 to 10 years
    
    Qualifications and Education Requirements:
    
    Bachelors or masters degree in engineering, or a related field.
    
    Preferred Skills:
17. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like
    
    Kubernetes.
18. Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create meaningful insights
    
    from data.
19. Background in machine learning and data science is a plus.
