We are seeking a highly experienced and self-driven MTS4 engineer to join our IO Tools team within CPBU (Core Platform Business Unit). You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable IO tooling that underpins the quality and reliability of our storage products. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant technical ownership, cross-team influence, and opportunities to mentor others.

• Architect, implement, and evolve core IO tools for block, file, and object storage testing, with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability for software-based all-flash storage arrays.
  
  
• Drive the convergence and modernization of legacy tools into unified, scalable solutions, leveraging Go and Python as primary languages.
  
  
• Collaborate closely with test infrastructure, framework, and product teams to ensure tools meet evolving requirements for functional, scale, and corruption testing across multiple storage protocols.
  
  
• Proactively identify gaps in tooling, propose and deliver solutions that improve test coverage, developer efficiency, and product quality.
  
  
• Lead technical discussions, provide design and code reviews, and mentor junior engineers within and beyond the team.
  
  
• Contribute to the long-term vision and roadmap for IO tooling, keeping customer needs and industry trends in mind.
  
  
• Ensure robust testability and triage capabilities are built into all tools, supporting rapid diagnosis of complex failures.
  
  
• Participate in the interview process and help shape the technical culture of the team.
  
  
• You will be based in Bengaluru, India. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office. 

• Proven track record (typically 8+ years) in software engineering, with deep expertise in related systems software projects e.g: Distributed systems, Operating systems, Linux Kernel, Hypervisors, Containers, Compiler Optimization, etc.
• Strong proficiency in Go and/or Python; experience with performance benchmarking, test automation, and scalable tool development.
• Demonstrated ability to independently drive complex, cross-domain projects from ideation through delivery.
  Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership within a team.
• Excellent communication skills; able to influence and align stakeholders across teams.
• Solid understanding of storage protocols (block, file, object) and test methodologies is a plus.

• You are the go-to expert for IO tooling, trusted to solve ambiguous, high-impact problems and deliver robust solutions with minimal oversight.
• You proactively shape the direction of the team's technology and processes, and your designs are respected for their clarity, scalability, and maintainability.
• You foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
