Network Engineer L2

Bharat Datacenter is seeking a skilled Network Engineer L2 to join our infrastructure team. This role will be responsible for monitoring, setup, configuration, and maintenance of our datacenter network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

Network Operations & Monitoring

• Monitor datacenter network infrastructure 24/7 using network monitoring tools and platforms
• Proactively identify and resolve network performance issues, bottlenecks, and outages
• Perform regular health checks on network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls
• Respond to network incidents and escalations, ensuring minimal downtime
• Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and incident reports

Network Configuration & Implementation

• Configure and deploy routers, switches, and other network equipment in datacenter environment
• Implement and manage BGP routing policies, prefix filtering, and route optimization
• Set up and maintain network segments, VLANs, and inter-datacenter connectivity
• Configure and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS)
• Perform network capacity planning and implement scaling solutions

BGP & Routing Management

• Design, implement, and maintain BGP peering sessions with ISPs and upstream providers
• Configure BGP attributes (AS-PATH, LOCAL_PREF, MED, communities) for traffic engineering
• Monitor BGP route announcements and prevent route leaks or hijacking
• Implement prefix filtering and BGP security best practices
• Troubleshoot complex BGP routing issues and convergence problems

Maintenance & Optimization

• Perform scheduled network maintenance activities with minimal service disruption
• Optimize network performance through traffic analysis and route tuning
• Update network device firmware and software following change management procedures
• Conduct regular network audits and security assessments
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution

Technical Skills (Mandatory)

• Strong hands-on experience with BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) configuration and troubleshooting
• Extensive knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and static routing
• Deep understanding of IP routing, subnetting, and TCP/IP fundamentals
• Proficiency in configuring enterprise routers (Cisco, Juniper, or similar platforms)
• Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching technologies
• Knowledge of network monitoring tools (Zabbix, Nagios, PRTG, LibreNMS, or similar)
• Understanding of datacenter network architecture and best practices

Essential Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in network engineering roles
• Proven track record of managing production network environments
• Experience with network troubleshooting using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, traceroute
• Hands-on experience with CLI-based network device configuration
• Familiarity with network automation and scripting (Python, Bash, Ansible is a plus)

Certifications

• CCNP or equivalent certification preferred
• CCNA or equivalent certification required

Preferred Qualifications

Cybersecurity Knowledge (Plus)

• Understanding of network security principles and best practices
• Familiarity with firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and DDoS mitigation
• Knowledge of security protocols (IPSec, SSL/TLS, SSH)
• Experience with access control lists (ACLs) and security policies
• Awareness of common network vulnerabilities and attack vectors

Additional Skills

• Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies
• Experience with IPv6 implementation
• Familiarity with MPLS and VPN technologies
• Understanding of datacenter interconnect (DCI) solutions
• Experience with network documentation tools

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35, ₹60,000.00 per month
