Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced SAP Basis Consultant responsible for managing, administrating, and supporting the SAP technical landscape across on-premise and cloud environments. The consultant will play a key role in SAP S/4HANA implementations, upgrades, migrations, and ongoing technical operations.

Major Job Responsibilities

Technical Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration including SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP Fiori, and SAP BTP components.
  • Ability to analyze, design, and support SAP technical architectures across on-premises and cloud landscapes.
  • Experience in at least 2 end-to-end SAP implementation projects, 1 upgrade project, and 1 migration project (including OS/DB or HANA migrations).

Implementation, Upgrade & Migration

  • Perform system installations, patching, kernel upgrades, support packs, feature packs, and enhancement packages.
  • Execute SAP S/4HANA conversions, migration activities, and system copies (homogeneous & heterogeneous).
  • Participate in environment builds, client strategy, and migration planning.

Cloud & Infrastructure

  • Knowledge of deploying and operating SAP systems on Azure / AWS / GCP (good to have).
  • Understanding of cloud compute, storage, networking, security concepts, and SAP cloud sizing principles.
  • Ability to collaborate with cloud/infrastructure teams for provisioning, monitoring, and scaling of SAP systems.

Performance, Monitoring & Optimization

  • Monitor system performance using tools like SAP Cloud ALM, Solution Manager, or equivalent.
  • Identify root causes for system issues and implement performance optimization across application and HANA layers.
  • Manage background jobs, work processes, RFC connections, transport management, and interface monitoring.

Security, Compliance & Best Practices

  • Manage SAP user administration, roles, authorizations, and audit requirements.
  • Ensure system compliance with SAP standards, security notes, and organizational IT policies.
  • Provide technical best practices, recommendations, and continuous improvements for the SAP landscape.

Troubleshooting & Support

  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to SAP Basis components, HANA database, operating systems, and integrations.
  • Provide L2/L3 support and collaborate with SAP Support (OSS) for issue resolution.
  • Assist in building DR plans, backup strategies, and high-availability setups.

Qualifications / Key Attributes

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7+ years of SAP Basis hands-on experience.
  • Experience across implementation, upgrade, and migration cycles as required.
  • SAP Certification in Basis / HANA / S/4HANA (Preferred).
  • Strong understanding of SAP architecture, HANA DB, OS/DB migrations, and cloud fundamentals.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate with technical/non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service approach with a focus on quality, stability, and continuous improvement.
