Cairn Oil & Gas, a Vedanta Company, India's largest private oil and gas producer, is looking to hire Instrumentation Managers. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all instrumentation activities in the oil & gas projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations. This includes managing installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation systems critical for process control and automation.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    BE/B.Tech in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering.
  • Experience:
    12–15 years in upstream oil & gas operations (onshore), with strong exposure to instrumentation systems in production facilities.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of control valves, smart transmitters, and field instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (IEC, API) and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations & Maintenance
    Ensure availability and reliability of all instrumentation systems
  • Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of field instruments (pressure, flow, level, temperature transmitters, control valves, vibration monitoring systems).
  • Manage calibration and health checks of smart instruments and control devices.
  • Project & Commissioning
    Oversee instrumentation scope in new projects and well pad commissioning.
  • Review P&IDs, cause & effect diagrams, and ensure compliance with design standards.
  • Safety & Compliance
    Implement QHSE standards and statutory requirements for instrumentation systems.
  • Support audits (ISO, VSAP) and ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Team Leadership
    Lead a team of engineers and technicians; plan manpower for routine and emergency jobs.
  • Coordinate with operations, electrical, and mechanical teams for integrated maintenance.
  • Continuous Improvement
    Drive reliability-centered maintenance and asset optimization initiatives.
  • Analyze failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
