Role Title: Network & Security Administrator L2 Consultant

Location: Mumbai Malad West

Engagement: 6 days a week

Roles & Responsibilities:

Network Operations & Administration

  • Plan, direct, and organize activities of the Network Operations team.
  • Implement, review, and monitor key business projects in coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Perform daily network health checks and validate link down issues as per SSL team guidelines.
  • Generate and review weekly bandwidth utilization reports with threshold analysis.
  • Prepare and share weekly network uptime reports and contribute to the weekly CIO dashboard.
  • Conduct monthly ISP performance reviews, including link stability, uptime, and SLA adherence.
  • Manage ISP communication and escalation for link-related issues.
  • Maintain and administer network infrastructure including routers, switches, load balancers, wireless controllers, and VPN devices.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network issues; replace faulty hardware as needed.
  • Provide 2nd level support for incidents, problems, and service requests.
  • Coordinate with remote engineers, vendors, and partners for installations and issue resolution.
  • Ensure VLAN configurations and changes are aligned with business requirements.

Network Expertise

  • Strong experience in IP networking, switching, routing, and packet analysis.
  • Hands-on expertise with Fortinet, Meraki, Ruckus & Cisco ISE products.
  • Proficient in routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), MPLS, QoS, and VoIP.
  • Experience with Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN) technologies.
  • Skilled in using network monitoring, diagnostic, and analytics tools.

Security Administration

  • Manage and support network security devices: firewalls, proxies, VPNs, IPS/IDS.
  • Implement and maintain security incident response processes and best practices.
  • Assist in implementing security standards like PCI-DSS and device hardening.
  • Define and maintain security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Participate in vulnerability and risk management, BCP/DR planning.

Information Security & Compliance

  • Stay updated with developments in network and information security.
  • Develop and maintain security documentation and training materials.
  • Support agile methodologies for infrastructure service development.
  • Participate in major incident handling and troubleshooting with the security team.
  • Support evaluation and implementation of new technologies and network projects.

Operational Excellence

  • Adhere to SSLs ticket management process and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain central documentation for knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Act as a liaison between end users and L3 teams for issue resolution.
  • Ensure monitoring mechanisms are in place for network and log analysis.
