Curriculum & Content Development and training the team
Design and Build: Architect, write, and develop comprehensive training curricula for VMware Horizon, covering beginner to advanced/expert levels.
Scope of Content: Topics must include Horizon architecture design, implementation, administration, troubleshooting, and optimization for both on-premises data centers and cloud platforms like VMware Cloud on AWS (VMC), Azure VMware Solution (AVS), and Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE).
Multi-Format Content: Create a variety of learning materials, including:
Student workbooks, quick reference guides, and whitepapers.
Ecosystem Integration: Develop content that integrates key Horizon ecosystem technologies like App Volumes, Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM), Unified Access Gateway (UAG), and vSAN.
Training Delivery & Facilitation:
Deliver high-impact, engaging training sessions to global audiences of IT professionals via virtual and in-person formats.
Facilitate hands-on labs, ensuring a practical and effective learning experience for all students.
Adapt teaching style to meet the needs of diverse learners with varying levels of experience.
Assessment & Certification Program Development:
Design Assessment Strategy: Create a robust framework for skill validation, including knowledge checks, quizzes, practical lab exams, and final certifications.
Build Question Banks: Develop a large pool of high-quality, technically accurate multiple-choice, scenario-based, and performance-based questions for assessments.
Create Practical Exams: Design "hands-on" lab exams that challenge candidates to perform real-world tasks in a controlled environment, proving their competency in deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Horizon.
Manage Certification Lifecycle: Establish and maintain the criteria for certification levels (e.g., Associate, Professional, Expert), including recertification paths.
Technical Expertise & Continuous Improvement:
Maintain deep, hands-on expertise with the latest versions of VMware Horizon and the evolving cloud landscape.
Continuously update and improve all training and certification materials to reflect new product features, best practices, and industry trends.
Act as the internal subject matter expert for the training team on all Horizon-related topics.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and/or managing VMware Horizon environments. 3+ years of experience in technical training and content development.
Technical Proficiency:
Expert-level knowledge of VMware Horizon (8.x) architecture and components.
Proven experience with Horizon deployments in on-premises and cloud environments (VMC, AVS, or GCVE).
Strong understanding of the core VMware stack: vSphere, and the Horizon ecosystem: App Volumes, DEM, and UAG.
Content Creation Skills:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
A strong portfolio of created technical content (e.g., courseware, lab guides, blogs, videos).
Experience with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate) is a plus.
Training Skills: Proven ability to deliver complex technical information clearly and effectively to a live audience.
Preferred Qualifications
VMware Certified Instructor (VCI) status or equivalent teaching certification.
VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) or VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) in Desktop and Mobility.
Formal qualification in education or instructional design.
Experience developing certification exams for a major technology vendor.
Proficiency with lab management platforms (e.g., Cloud-based Labs).
