Specialist DevOps Engineer

Role Summary

Amgen India is seeking a Specialist DevOps Engineer to drive DevOps automation, CI/CD, and hybrid Kubernetes operations for our industrial manufacturing solutions. Youll collaborate with a global team of developers, engineers, automation and IT specialists to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient platforms that power digital transformation across manufacturing and operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines for IoT and other manufacturing platforms (using GitLab, Rafay, etc.).
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Deploy and manage containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes) in hybrid Kubernetes environments hosted on-prem and on AWS cloud.
• Integrate security controls (SAST/DAST, RBAC, Veracode scanning) into DevOps workflows.
• Collaborate with developers, automation engineers, and security teams to implement shift-left security and compliance.
• Monitor and optimize build/deployment pipelines for stability, performance, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across cloud, platform, and application layers.
• Develop custom DevOps utilities and dynamic pipeline templates to accelerate delivery.
• Support vulnerability scanning, remediation, and incident response for code, containers, and cloud resources.
• Document technical solutions, automation scripts, and operational procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps best practices across teams.

Basic Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years hands-on experience in DevOps, automation, or platform engineering roles.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including compute, networking, IAM, and VPC design.
• Deep expertise in deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters in production environments (cloud and on-premises).
• Expertise in creating, packaging, and deploying Helm charts for Kubernetes applications, including customization for multiple environments and automation via CI/CD pipelines
• Advanced skills in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
• Strong experience with CI/CD platforms (GitLab), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and automation scripting (Python, Bash).
• Proven track record of operating hybrid infrastructure in production environments.
• Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (CIS, NIST, ISO
• Experience working in Agile development environments (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe), collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver iterative solutions.
• Experience with event driven microservices architectures.
• Experience with Linux/Unix and basic scripting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using GitHub copilot, cursor, codex or other AI assited development technologies
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Familiarity with Rafay for Kubernetes cluster management, GitOps workflows, and workload automation is desirable.
• Experience supporting IoT or other containerized manufacturing platforms in an industrial setting is a plus.
• Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA/CKS), Security Specialty is a plus
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus, or Fluentd for Kubernetes and cloud-native environments.
