About the Role :

We are urgently looking for a skilled Senior MySQL Database Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in MySQL database engineering, administration, and support, with strong expertise in SQL performance tuning and cluster management. You will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and ensuring the high availability of MySQL databases in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Manage and support MySQL databases including installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.

- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure efficient operation.

- Monitor and maintain database clusters ensuring high availability, scalability, and data integrity.

- Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Shell.

- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support database design, schema changes, and deployments.

- Maintain backups, disaster recovery strategies, and implement security best practices.

- Diagnose and resolve database-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.

- Maintain documentation of database systems, procedures, and policies.

- Provide database support and guidance for complex technical issues.

- Monitor Linux-based database servers and manage networking configurations relevant to MySQL clusters.

Must-Have Qualifications :

- 7+ years of overall experience in database engineering, administration, and support.

- Minimum 6+ years hands-on experience specifically in MySQL database management.

- Strong expertise in SQL development, query optimization, and performance tuning.

- Experience managing MySQL clusters for high availability and scalability.

- Good working knowledge of Linux environments and networking fundamentals.

- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Shell for automation.

Good to Have :

- Experience working with Elasticsearch and Redis.

- Familiarity with cloud environments and database migration strategies.

- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

- Understanding of database security best practices and compliance standards.
