What you'll do:
Embark on a journey with Principal Financial Group as a Consultant Data Engineer, where your expertise will build the future of data management. In this role, you will drive transformative data strategies that align seamlessly with our business goals. You will be at the forefront of data architecture, ensuring that our data platforms are both innovative and robust.
You'll have the opportunity:
- Provide consulting on enterprise data architecture and engineering solutions - Develop and architect complex data transformation pipelines - Develop data strategy roadmaps aligned with business objectives - Guide organizations in modernizing their data platforms - Lead solution building for large-scale data initiatives - Mentor teams and build organizational capabilities - Evaluate and recommend new technologies and methodologies - Lead efforts in data governance and complianceWho are you:
- Consultant Data Engineer with 10+ years of experience in data engineering to provide expert guidance to meet end-to-end delivery of data management services.Expertise in enterprise architecture and system design
- Experience with data mesh architecture
- Comprehensive knowledge of modern data platforms and technologies
- Expert-level understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake)
- Advanced knowledge of data security, data governance and compliance frameworks
- Expertise in data strategy development and execution
- Strong understanding of industry trends and best practices in data space
- Strong experience with enterprise integration patterns
- Agile/Scrum methodology experience
Good to Have
- Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks
- Knowledge of advanced analytics platforms
- Familiarity with cost optimization strategies
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards
- Experience of data visualization tools (Power BI)
Qualifications
Engineering or Equivalent

- Clear stakeholder communication with options, trade-offs, and data-backed recommendations.
