We are looking for a highly motivated, results-oriented, and detail-focused Purchasing Manager to join our expanding team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for sourcing products from global markets, managing supplier relationships, conducting thorough market research, analyzing pricing strategies, and overseeing the end-to-end procurement process. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong negotiation capabilities, and a keen ability to identify market trends to drive success for Cake Craft Company.

A typical day for the new Purchasing Manager will involve sourcing products globally, managing supplier relationships, conducting market research, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. They will oversee sample requests, negotiate pricing, place orders, and monitor supplier performance. The role includes managing product listings, ensuring timely invoice processing, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. The manager will also focus on continuous improvement, working independently and as part of the team to achieve targets and maintain clear documentation on while ensuring SOP compliance. Adaptability and effective decision-making are key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Sourcing: Proactively source products from suppliers worldwide, leveraging global platforms like Alibaba to establish supplier relationships and procure new products that align with the company's needs.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Respond to introductory emails from new suppliers, build strong relationships, and ensure effective supplier communication.
• Market Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, understand market demands, and stay ahead of industry shifts.
• Competitor Analysis: Regularly analyze competitor pricing and compare it with our own offerings to ensure our products are competitively priced. Keep track of new product releases from competitors and strategically source these items for our company.
• Internal Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to finalize product selections based on comprehensive market research and company requirements.
• Sample Coordination & Negotiations: Request samples, negotiate competitive pricing, and define favorable contract terms with suppliers.
• Data-Driven Procurement: Utilize data analysis and forecasting tools to determine optimal order quantities, ensuring cost efficiency and demand fulfillment.
• Cost-Saving Initiatives: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement strategies to enhance profitability.
• Order Placement & Follow-Up: Coordinate with suppliers to place orders and manage follow-ups, ensuring timely delivery.
• Supplier Performance Monitoring: Track supplier performance, address any issues or discrepancies, and manage conflict resolution.
• Product Listings & Images: Ensure high-quality product images are obtained for website and other digital platforms. Oversee product listings to ensure all new products go live promptly.
• Invoice Processing: Ensure that supplier invoices are carefully reviewed and promptly forwarded to the relevant team for payment processing.
• Documentation & SOP Compliance: Follow organizational SOPs and maintain detailed, accurate records for all procurement activities on the respective common interactive platform such as

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven Experience: Proven experience in product sourcing, purchasing, or a similar role.
• Communication & Negotiation: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent negotiation abilities.
• Tech Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation.
• Analytical & Organizational Skills: Strong data analysis skills with an ability to present findings clearly. Highly organized, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Prioritization & Time Management: Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work efficiently under pressure.
• Self-Motivated & Team-Oriented: Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to team efforts and goals.
