Industry: Healthcare — Clinical Acute Care and Orthopaedics. We provide comprehensive surgical and rehabilitative orthopaedic services for adult and paediatric patients in a tertiary/regional hospital setting, serving patients across Bihar and neighbouring regions. This is an on-site consultant role based in Arrah, Bihar, focused on delivering high-quality operative care and leading perioperative clinical pathways.

Primary job title: Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon

Role & Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality outpatient, inpatient and emergency orthopaedic care—assess, diagnose, and manage musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Perform elective and emergency orthopaedic surgeries including joint replacements, arthroscopy, trauma fixation and spinal procedures with documented surgical competence.
  • Lead pre-operative planning, intra-operative decision-making and post-operative rehabilitation pathways to optimise patient outcomes and reduce complications.
  • Collaborate with anaesthesia, physiotherapy, nursing and radiology teams to coordinate perioperative care and streamline patient flow.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, participate in morbidity & mortality reviews and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call rotas, emergency trauma lists and community outreach clinics as required for the Arrah facility.
Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • MS (Orthopaedics) or DNB (Orthopaedics)
  • Valid registration with the State Medical Council / Medical Council of India and license to practise in India
  • Demonstrated operative competence in joint replacement, arthroscopy and trauma fixation
  • Proficiency in use of C-arm fluoroscopy for intra-operative imaging and fracture fixation

Preferred

  • Fellowship or advanced training in joint replacement or arthroscopy
  • Experience in tertiary hospital workflows, teaching or clinical audit-led improvement projects
