Job Title

Assistant Professor – Medical Surgical Nursing

Qualification

  • M.Sc. Nursing (Medical Surgical Nursing – preferred/specialized)
  • Must be registered with the State Nursing Council / INC
  • Minimum 3 years of teaching and/or clinical experience after M.Sc Nursing
  • Ph.D. (Nursing) – Desirable but not mandatory

Experience

  • 3 years or more of experience in:
  • Nursing education (UG/PG level) and/or
  • Clinical practice in Medical Surgical Nursing

Job Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Duties

  • Plan and deliver theory and practical classes for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Nursing students
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and clinical demonstrations
  • Guide students in clinical postings, case studies, and nursing care plans
  • Evaluate students through internal assessments, practical exams, and viva voce
  • Mentor students for academic, clinical, and professional development

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate students during clinical rotations in medical and surgical wards
  • Ensure implementation of evidence-based nursing practices
  • Maintain clinical competency and update skills regularly

Research & Scholarly Activities

  • Conduct and guide nursing research projects
  • Publish research papers in indexed/national/international journals
  • Participate in conferences, workshops, seminars, and FDPs
  • Encourage research culture among students

Administrative & Institutional Duties

  • Participate in curriculum development and syllabus revision
  • Maintain academic records and documentation as per INC/University norms
  • Assist in accreditation processes (INC, NAAC, NABH, etc.)
  • Serve as a member of committees, academic councils, or examination boards
  • Contribute to college development activities and community outreach programs
