
Lead Staff Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Platform Management: Configure and maintain settings, access controls, and integrations for GitHub, PagerDuty, and Azure DevOps to ensure smooth operations.
- Pipeline and Scheduling: Support administration of self-hosted runners/agents, build pipelines, and on-call schedules to maintain operational efficiency.
- On-Call Participation: Participate in on-call duties, providing support for up to two weeks per month to ensure platform reliability and issue resolution.
- Automation and Reporting: Assist in developing basic automation and reporting solutions to improve resource utilization and provide actionable insights.
- User Support: Provide technical assistance, maintain clear documentation, and deliver training to platform users to ensure effective adoption.
- Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve platform-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
- Agile Practices: Utilize SCRUM or Kanban methodologies to manage tasks and support project delivery.
- Maintain and update Scrum/Kanban boards in Azure DevOps to reflect accurate sprint progress and task status.
- Support sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.
- Work with DevOps engineers to collect and analyze performance and operational metrics from Azure DevOps.
- Assist in generating reports and dashboards to support decision-making and process optimization.
- Support management of licenses for DevOps tools (e.g., CI/CD, monitoring, and collaboration platforms), ensuring compliance and timely renewals.
- Coordinate with procurement and vendor management teams to streamline licensing processes.
- Assist in developing onboarding roadmaps for newly acquired DevOps tools, including licensing coordination and team enablement.
- Support internal DevOps projects by tracking milestones, risks, and deliverables to ensure timely execution.
- Act as a liaison between development and DevOps teams to align priorities and deliverables.
- Partner with DevOps managers to drive strategic initiatives and process improvements.
- Assist in preparing presentations, demos, and documentation for internal stakeholders.
- Demo & Communication Support
- Support the creation and delivery of demos for new tools, processes, or project outcomes.
- Ensure clear and timely communication of project status and updates to relevant stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, PagerDuty, or similar platforms (training provided for deeper expertise).
- Basic understanding of CI/CD tools and processes.
- Exposure to scripting (e.g., PowerShell) is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with self-hosted runners/agents and Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations is preferred.
- Basic understanding of DevOps methodologies and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Knowledge of container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) or CI/CD security best practices is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in a coordination or support role within IT or DevOps environments.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar project management tools.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban) is preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with a focus on cross-team collaboration.

- Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI or Excel for metric visualization is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality results.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn and grow within the role.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Master's degree in a recognized discipline is a plus.
Certifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer, GitHub Administration, or Agile/SCRUM certifications) are desirable but not required.
