ABOUT THE JOB

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Head of Accounts and Finance at Synergy Shipbuilders for our Bombay office to oversee the financial operations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting, reconciliations and tax compliance. They will be responsible for overseeing the team for day-to-day financial operations of the company, including budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Manage month-end and year-end closing, prepare financial statements, cash flow reports, and budget vs. actual analysis for the CEO.
  • Record Keeping & Reconciliation: Oversee billing, bank deposits, reconciliations, and credit card transactions.
  • Payables Reports - Maintaining and updating payables report on regular basis.
  • Payment Processing: Initiate bank and cheque payments for approved bills - local and international
  • Tax Compliance & Filing: Ensure correct Tax application, prepare monthly returns, and file corporate tax returns.
  • Audits: Coordinate with our CA, prepare audit schedules, and implement internal controls.
  • Adhoc Reporting: Supervise the Accounts Associate, pass entries in Tally, and handle various financial tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting and finance
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and related field
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA) are a plus
  • Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance is importance
  • Strong knowledge and experience in accounting principles and practices in India
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting
  • Experience in budgeting and financial planning
  • Ability to lead and manage a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
