Roles & Responsibilities for QS Engineer

  • Major projects under Greater Chennai Corporation, including:
  • Storm Water Drain Project / Pumping Station / Indian Railways / PWD & CPWD Projects.
  • Taking Estimation, RA billing, and execution support for over drainage system networks
  • Preparation of Client Bill, Reconciliation for all materials
  • Preparation of Labour bill & Comparison of labour bill vs. completed work.
  • Pond Restoration Works Quantity take-off for desilting, retaining wall, and landscaping works
  • Animal Birth Control (ABC) Building Construction
  • Monitor site progress and prepare interim payment certificates (RA Bills)
  • Prepare and verify variation orders, extra item claims, and escalation claims
  • Preparing daily progress reports and measurement sheets in accordance with DPRs
  • Managing client billing, subcontractor billing, and variation documentation
  • Support in tender preparation and analysis of item rates
  • Reconcile contract quantities vs executed quantities
  • Developed automated Excel templates for quantity take-offs, BOQs, BBS, and RA billing
  • Used Excel functions like VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, conditional formatting, pivot tables, and macros to enhance productivity
  • Conduct preliminary material testing (sieve analysis, moisture content, specific gravity, etc.)
  • Ensure the correct mix design proportions as per M20, M25, M30, etc
  • Prepare and validate trial mixes and optimize concrete performance.
  • Preparation of Daily Labour Report, Daily Progress Report.
  • Preferred Government Project Experience Candidates

Experience in Storm Water Drain Project / Pumping Station / Indian Railways / PWD & CPWD Projects.
