Role description

Role Proficiency:

Execute the manual test cases with accuracy using basic automation scripting and perform defect triaging and failure isolation with supervision

Outcomes:

  • Executes manual validation

  • Perform defect triaging

  • Complete the test grid and locate/ execute 'out of box' scenarios

  • Perform issue replication regression and isolation

  • Locate the product failures and report it in test repository and bug tracker

  • Learn technology business domain system domain individually and as recommended by the project/account

Measures of Outcomes:

  • Number of showstoppers and critical bugs found

  • Perform defect triaging

  • Compliance on updating the test repository and bug database properly

  • Adherence to schedule / timelines

  • Number of defects post delivery

  • Number of non-compliance issues

  • Reduction of reoccurrence of known defects as per SLA

  • SLA in turnaround of production bugs

  • Defined productivity standards for project

  • Completion of all mandatory training requirements

Outputs Expected:

Manage Project:

  • Perform task deliverables with quality and targeting completion timeframe.

Estimate:

  • Estimate time

    effort

    and resource dependence for one's own work and for others' work.

Document:

  • Create documentation for own work

Status Reporting:

  • Report status of tasks assigned

  • Compliance to validation standards and process

Mentoring:

  • Mentor Junior Validation associates by supporting them in execution and on the job training

Skill Examples:

  • Should have basic automation scripting skill

  • Able to do severity and priority identification of sightings raised

  • Computer hardware and components operation skills

  • Working with Windows OS flavours and installation

  • Working with BIOS drivers and various display protocols

  • Ability to perform and evaluate test results against product specifications

  • Ability to estimate effort time required for own work and for the junior engineers

  • Ability to perform and evaluate test in the customer or target environment

  • Work in a team environment

  • Good written and verbal communication abilities

  • Should have good analytical skills to perform defect triaging

Knowledge Examples:

  • Knowledge regarding different types of testing methodologies

  • Awareness of Benchmarking tools and their functionalities

  • Possess very good product knowledge

Additional Comments:

B.E, Diploma OR an Associate Degree in a relevant technical field. with 3 years of experience in 'electronic' system level HW testing.
• Familiarity with assembly and testing X86/GPU based systems
• Familiarity in executing tests under Windows and Linux environment
• Understanding of test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscope, DAQ and DMM
• Experience in silicon testing environment is preferred.
