Key Responsibilities

• Preoperative Care:

• Assess patient condition, NPO status, and alleviate concerns.

• Prepare the operating room by stocking supplies, ensuring cleanliness, and sterilizing equipment.

• Position the patient on the operating table.

• Intraoperative Care:

• Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgery.

• Monitor patient's vital signs to ensure stability.
• Maintain the sterile environment of the operating room.
• Pass instruments and other items to the surgeon as needed.

• Administer medications under the direction of the surgeon or anesthesiologist.

• Postoperative Care:

• Monitor patients in the recovery room.

• Provide care for patients as they recover from surgery and anesthesia.

• Educate patients and their families on post-operative instructions and care.

• General Duties:

• Maintain a sterile and safe operating room environment.

• Ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available and maintained.
• Document all patient care, procedures, and data accurately.
• Communicate effectively with the surgical team, patients, and families.
• Adhere to safety standards and hospital protocols.
