About the Role
We are looking for a
Machine Learning Scientist (Bioinformatics)
to advance the application of artificial intelligence in
computational biology and genomics
. In this role, you will design and develop
cutting-edge ML models
for biological data, leveraging frontier approaches such as novel architectures, generative models, and mechanistic interpretability techniques.
You will collaborate closely with expert experimental biologists to apply your models in
genome mining, molecular technology development, and therapeutic innovation
. This role offers a unique opportunity to advance the
state-of-the-art in ML for genomics
, contribute to high-impact discoveries, and shape how computational approaches transform our understanding of biology.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, train, and evaluate
advanced ML models
for molecular biology and genomic applications. - Develop
biological language models
to study eukaryotic and prokaryotic genome function and gene discovery. - Build, test, and maintain
modular and scalable software tools
to accelerate adoption of genomic ML models. - Contribute to research projects in
generative genomics, genome engineering, and therapeutics
. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams of
biologists, bioinformaticians, and ML engineers
. - Present and communicate analytical findings effectively to both computational and experimental teams.
About You
- Passionate about applying
machine learning to solve biological problems
with real-world impact. - Strong foundation in
deep learning, computational biology, and genomics
. - Excellent at
analyzing and visualizing complex datasets
and building high-quality ML tools. - Familiar with
genomic language modeling

biological design
concepts. - Collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for
interdisciplinary teamwork

Qualifications & Experience
- Education:
M.Sc./B.Tech/M.Tech (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or Genetics/Genomics. - Experience:
5–15 years in academia or industry, focused on ML or bioinformatics. - Proficient in
Python
,
Bash
, and frameworks such as
PyTorch
or
TensorFlow
. - Experience with
Linux
,
Git/GitHub
,
Docker
, and
Jupyter/RMarkdown
notebooks. - Understanding of how
experimental design impacts data analysis
. - Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with experimental scientists.
