Industry: Financial Services — Treasury & Capital Markets technology. Sector: Enterprise trading, risk and post-trade systems for banks, asset managers and market infrastructure providers. This is a client-facing, on-site engineering role based in India focused on implementing and supporting Calypso-based front-to-back solutions.

About The Opportunity
We are hiring an experienced Calypso Developer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering production-grade treasury, trading and post-trade solutions. You will design, build and support Calypso customizations, integrations and configuration to enable robust trade lifecycle processing, risk calculation and straight-through processing for global markets.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deploy Calypso customisations and extensions using Java and Calypso SDK to support front-to-back trade lifecycles.
  • Configure Calypso modules and perform parameterisation for instruments (IR, FX, Bonds, Derivatives) and market data feeds.
  • Implement and maintain integrations with external systems (SWIFT/FIX, FIXML, REST/SOAP, middleware) and data stores (Oracle/SQL).
  • Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, deliver timely fixes and participate in on-call rotations for critical issues.
  • Support release cycles, regression testing, deployment activities and Calypso upgrades, including data migration and patch testing.
  • Produce clear technical documentation, collaborate with business stakeholders and mentor junior engineers on Calypso best practices.

Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have

  • 7+ years hands-on experience developing and supporting Calypso platform (customisation, config, SDK).
  • Strong Java / J2EE programming skills with experience in Calypso extensions and plugin development.
  • Proficient with SQL / PL/SQL and relational databases (Oracle) for data extraction and troubleshooting.
  • Good command of XML, XSLT and message formats (SWIFT/FIX/FIXML); experience building integration adapters (REST/SOAP).
  • Solid UNIX/Linux skills and scripting (Shell) for deployments, monitoring and log analysis.
  • Practical understanding of trading instruments, trade lifecycle and post-trade processes in Treasury/Capital Markets.

Preferred

  • Experience with Calypso upgrades, patching, and performance tuning in production environments.
  • Knowledge of middleware (MQ, Kafka), CI/CD pipelines, containerisation or cloud deployments for enterprise apps.
  • Familiarity with test automation, unit/integration testing and UAT support in financial applications.
