Northern Trust is looking for a
Sr Associate
to join its Technology Development Centre in Pune, India in the 50 South Capital team. This individual as part of an Agile development team, will be responsible for analysis, design and development of Java, Spring Boot, Database and Azure components that meet business and technical requirements.
Major Duties
- Design and develop Java and Database components based on documents that fit within technical framework as outlined by technical architects
- Ensure code meets standards and tested appropriate to the platform
- Provide technical guidance to the development team
- A team player with an ability to own the design and code as per requirement given.
- Communicate status (written and verbal) to project team and management
- Continuously looks for ways to improve the application's stability, scalability and user experience
Experience
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology
- 5-8 years experienced Java, Spring Boot, SQL consultant who will be responsible for design and develop highly efficient, scalable and customizable reporting solutions using on premises and external sources.
- Experience in multi-tiered, complex system design & architecture.
Required Skills
- Excellent knowledge of SDLC and Agile development practices
- Expert level knowledge of Core Java, Spring Boot, JPA's and Hibernate.
- Expert level understanding of cloud infrastructure – on prem or public – Azure / PCF
- Expertise in Implementing API driven Micro services
- Experience in implementing security best practices to API platform – Oauth/SAML, Encryptions, masking etc.
- Expert level understanding of UI technologies like – Angular / React / Redux
- Experience in Asynch processing /Batch streaming to handle high volume data.
- Knowledge of scripting languages – Javascripts, Python, powershell etc.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies. Experience in Automate code releases and redundant tasks using Shell/Python scripting.
- Manage permissions, backup and performance across different databases like MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres etc
- Experience with Data Lakes, Operational Data Stores and Enterprise Datawarehouse.
- Experience in developing reports using – BusinessObjects, Power BI, Tableau or Coric.
- Experience on using ETL tools – Datastage, Informatica etc.
- Expert knowledge of SQL and related SQL procedure languages.
- Design, develop and use data structures and data marts to support reporting.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Both attention to detail & ability to rise above details to see broader implications & recommend strategic solutions
- Self-starter; Positive & adaptable in a continually changing environment
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills with technical & business partners
Preferred/ Recommended Skills
- Familiarity with Banking/Financial domain
- Financial domain knowledge – Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Fund Accounting, Trading
- Work on Project involving migrating on Premise data to Cloud platform
- Worked on project streamlining the testing process by introducing automation, leveraging tools and setting goals to reduce time and effort.
