Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer (DC Engineering – Switchyard & Substation Design) to join our engineering team. The role involves the design, analysis, and engineering of switchyards and substations for large-scale solar power projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, expertise in power system studies, and hands-on experience in preparing detailed engineering documentation while ensuring compliance with standards and project requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Experience: Proven experience in electrical design and engineering of switchyards, substations, or power distribution systems.

Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license is an advantage.

Technical Expertise:

Strong understanding of electrical system design, power flow, and protection studies.

Familiarity with industry software tools for load flow and short-circuit analysis.

Knowledge of relevant Indian and international electrical codes and standards.

Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Other: Willingness to visit project sites as needed.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Design and engineer switchyards, substation layouts, and associated electrical systems for solar power projects.

Perform load flow analysis, short-circuit studies, and relay coordination to ensure system reliability and protection.

Collaborate with internal design, project, and procurement teams, as well as external consultants, to ensure adherence to codes, standards, and project specifications.

Review and approve technical specifications for transformers, circuit breakers, isolators, busbars, switches, and protective relays.

Conduct site visits and surveys to evaluate conditions and collect necessary data for design and execution.

Prepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and documentation required for construction and commissioning.

Provide technical support during construction, testing, and commissioning of switchyard and substation systems.

Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues, proposing design improvements and cost-effective solutions.

Stay updated with industry developments, new technologies, and best practices in electrical and switchyard design.

Contribute to continuous improvement and participate in lessons learned sessions to enhance future project delivery.
