Factory Manager

Job Summary:

The Factory Manager will be responsible for the overall management of production operations at the Furniture & Fixtures Manufacturing Plant. The role involves planning, organizing, and controlling manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production, quality assurance, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing end-to-end manufacturing operations involving woodwork, modular furniture, fixtures, metal fabrication, and finishing processes .Will generate reports and analysis to monitor and improve quality and quantity of materials produced.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production & Operations Management

• Plan, organize, and supervise day-to-day manufacturing operations for furniture and fixture production.
• Develop and implement production schedules in coordination with design and project teams.
• Ensure optimal utilization of resources manpower, machines, and materials.
• Drive process efficiency, productivity improvement, and waste reduction initiatives.
• Ensure timely execution of all production orders with adherence to design and quality specifications.

2. Quality Assurance & Process Control

• Maintain high-quality standards throughout production.
• Coordinate with the Quality team to conduct inspections at each stage — raw materials, in-process, and final output.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions for quality deviations.
• Promote continuous improvement and standardization in production processes.

3. Machinery & Maintenance

• Oversee the maintenance of all plant machinery and equipment (CNC, panel saws, edge banders, drilling, finishing machines, etc.).
• Plan and ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
• Minimize equipment downtime and ensure safe and efficient machine operation.

4. Material & Inventory Management

• Monitor raw material (wood, laminates, hardware, metal, paint, etc.) availability and coordinate with Purchase & Store departments.
• Control wastage of materials and ensure optimal inventory levels.
• Verify material consumption reports and maintain cost control.

5. Workforce & Team Management

• Supervise, train, and lead production supervisors, operators, and helpers.
• Ensure adequate manpower planning and effective utilization.
• Promote a culture of discipline, teamwork, and accountability.
• Conduct regular skill development and safety training sessions.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Enforce adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and factory regulations.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure safe working conditions.

7. Reporting & Coordination

• Prepare and present daily/weekly/monthly production reports (output, efficiency, downtime, wastage, etc.).
• Coordinate closely with design, purchase, and project teams to ensure smooth order flow.
• Support management in budgeting, cost estimation, and production planning.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong technical knowledge of furniture & fixture manufacturing processes — woodworking, metal fabrication, joinery, polishing, and assembly.
• Sound understanding of production planning, process optimization, and lean manufacturing principles.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and production management software.
• Ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualification & Experience:

• Qualification: MBA with Diploma / B.Tech / BE in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or Wood Technology Engineering.
• Experience: years in furniture and fixture manufacturing

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary Range: between 6 Lakhs to 8 Lakhs Per Annum
