Business Development Intern
About The Role
We are seeking a proactive Business Development Intern to join our on-site sales team in India. You will support lead generation, qualify prospects, and help convert opportunities into meetings and pilot projects. This role is ideal for a motivated self-starter who wants practical sales experience in a dynamic digital services company.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prospect and generate qualified leads through outbound calls, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, and targeted research.
- Engage and qualify inbound leads promptly; assess fit against service offerings and prepare concise opportunity briefs for senior sales staff.
- Schedule and coordinate discovery calls and demos between prospects and account managers; maintain follow-up cadence to progress pipeline.
- Maintain and update CRM records (lead status, contact details, activity logs) to ensure accurate pipeline reporting.
- Support creation of sales collateral: pitches, proposal templates, and competitor/market research summaries to improve conversion rates.
- Track key metrics (lead volume, conversion rate, meetings booked) and share actionable insights to iterate outreach strategies.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- 1–12 months relevant experience or internships in sales, telemarketing, or business development preferred.
- Strong communication skills (phone and written) with a confident, professional demeanor for client outreach.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce) and basic Excel/Google Sheets for tracking activity.
- High motivation, persistence, and ability to work on-site in India with a target-driven mindset.
Preferred
- Exposure to digital marketing or web development services and an understanding of B2B sales cycles.
- Experience running LinkedIn outreach, basic copywriting for cold emails, or using sales automation tools.
