Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AppDynamics Developer / Consultant with strong coding and performance engineering skills. The role involves implementing and maintaining observability solutions using AppDynamics while working closely with data engineering, DevOps, and application teams to optimize system performance and ensure seamless monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Pipeline & Application Monitoring

Set up and maintain monitoring systems using AppDynamics to track health and performance of applications and data pipelines.

Configure dashboards, alerts, and custom metrics to proactively detect anomalies and performance issues.

Performance Engineering & Troubleshooting

Analyze application and pipeline performance to identify bottlenecks, optimize data flows, and improve system efficiency.

Implement logging, error handling, and tracing strategies for quick troubleshooting.

Collaboration & Support

Work closely with data engineers, DevOps, and SRE teams to ensure observability best practices.

Partner with business teams to translate monitoring insights into actionable improvements.

Automation & Optimization

Automate monitoring tasks and develop tools/scripts for streamlined management of data pipelines.

Forecast resource requirements to handle scaling workloads without degradation.

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure observability practices align with security and compliance standards (e.g., data privacy).

Document monitoring configurations, best practices, and knowledge sharing.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with AppDynamics (APM, Dashboards, Alerts, Custom Metrics, Troubleshooting).

Solid coding background in at least one programming language: Python / Java / Scala.

Deep understanding of data pipelines, ETL, Data Warehousing, and BI projects.

Knowledge of AWS services (Glue, S3, Athena – nice to have).

Experience in incident management tools (e.g., JIRA).

Strong problem-solving, debugging, and performance-tuning skills.

Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in observability/monitoring for large-scale systems.

Exposure to other APM tools (Dynatrace, New Relic, Datadog) in addition to AppDynamics.

Certification in AppDynamics or related observability platforms.
