Our core network product portfolio includes solutions such as PCRF for Data and VoLTE, Converged Real-Time Rating and Charging, and Unified Policy Control and Charging. In addition, our digital stack offerings encompass a comprehensive range of platforms and services including Telecom Big Data Analytics, Loyalty and Campaign Management, Omnichannel Self-Care, Mediation, eKYC, Mobile Financial Services (such as Mobile Money and Electronic Top-up) and Consolidated Messaging Platforms (including USSD Gateway, SMSC and Notification Systems).

Job Summary
We are looking for a Technical Team Lead with strong experience in 3GPP Policy and Charging Systems (OCS, PCRF, PCF) and hands-on expertise in Java and/or C++ development. This role requires deep telecom domain knowledge along with the technical leadership to drive enhancements that align with 5G network demands including scalability, performance and microservices-based architecture.

You will lead a team of engineers, actively contribute to low-level design and development and collaborate closely with senior architects to implement new capabilities and performance optimizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical development of product modules in the Policy & Charging domain adhering to 3GPP specifications.
• Collaborate with product architects to enhance architectural components to support 5G requirements, performance improvements and scale-out capabilities.
• Own low-level design and ensure high-quality maintainable code in Java or C++.
• Guide and mentor a team of engineers through daily standups, sprint planning, technical problem-solving and code reviews.
• Design and develop microservices using Spring Boot with high availability and low-latency performance in mind.
• Integrate and manage Kafka for event-driven processing and Redis for caching and session management.
• Work with relational databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Ensure software solutions meet operational requirements for high reliability, uptime and performance.
• Coordinate with QA, DevOps and product stakeholders in an Agile environment.

Skills & Experience
Telecom Domain Expertise :

• In-depth understanding of 3GPP standards related to :
• OCS (Online Charging System).
• PCRF (Policy and Charging Rules Function).
• PCF (Policy Control Function) for 5G.
• Converged real-time rating and charging models.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in Java and/or C++ with strong coding and debugging skills.
• Hands-on with Spring Boot including Spring MVC, Spring Data and Spring Cloud.
• Solid grasp of microservices architecture and inter-service communication patterns.
• Experience with Apache Kafka for real-time event streaming.
• Knowledge of Redis for caching and session state.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL, MySQL; familiarity with Columnar DB is a plus.
• Ability to write and maintain RESTful APIs and services.

Leadership & Communication

• 2+ years in a technical leadership or team lead role.
• Ability to guide and mentor engineers on design, architecture and clean coding practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Nice To Have

• Exposure to 5G core network functions.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related engineering field.
• Equivalent industry experience in telecom product development is also acceptable.
